Is intense training alone enough for physical transformation?

Je li za tjelesnu transformaciju dovoljno samo intenzivno treniranje?

With the arrival of summer, many people decide to renew their gym membership. Exhausting workouts several times a week are becoming the new norm in the battle for a sculpted body. However, what if you're doing everything wrong? Trainer Neven Ćuk, owner of Body Recomp, explains more about this.
Myth: As long as you train intensely, it doesn't matter what or how much you eat.
Fact: If you train intensely, then what and how much you eat is even more important.
A lot of people think that training is enough, and that if they train intensely enough, they don't have to worry about what and how much they eat.
So many people are actually misinformed on this topic and I wish I could tell every single one of those people that without optimal nutrition they simply will not get the results they are looking for no matter how long and intensely they train.

If you're anything like me, then you train to achieve some kind of positive result, not because you have nothing better to do in life.

If you train and don't watch what and how much you eat, you may be doing more harm than good.
Why?
Because by training you actually waste energy and 'destroy' your body by creating so-called micro-traumas in the muscles which only heal during a period of rest, if accompanied by adequate nutrition.
With training you create a stimulus, with rest and nutrition you create an environment within which that stimulus is transformed into the result you want.
Therefore, if you train intensely and then don't give your body the necessary amount of nutrients, or give it too much, you are not making it better, but worse.
Don't be one of those who stubbornly believes that "Exercise only works for those with the right genetics" or "There's something wrong with my body."

The point is: If your body doesn't have the nutrients it needs to recover, let alone improve, after an intense workout, it's the equivalent of lighting a lighter with no gas in it – yes, you'll get a spark, but no flame.
You have to have both – a spark and gas. You have to have the fuel for the fire, and you have to create a spark to start the fire.
Don't fall victim to the idea that "Exercise is enough."
All you need to do is accept the fact that optimal nutrition is just as important as proper training, and when you accept that, you will be one step closer to achieving the results you deserve anyway.
